I'm happy to help, Rufus! I understand your concern with your air conditioning blowing through the floor vents, that will certainly not efficiently cool the interior of your vehicle. The problem you're describing sounds like your blend door or blend door actuator may be the culprit, I suggest speaking with a certified mechanic to diagnose the problem. If you need help locating a mechanic try our 'Need repair help?' link further down this page.

Yes, this part might fix this problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

This could possibly be the problem. However, with out the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer.

  • Q:

How can I check if a relay is good or bad? More specifically, I'm looking at the radiator fan relay. I think there is two of them (99 Malibu 3.1 v6) for low and high speeds. Maybe that's the 4pin and 5pin relays? At any rate, is there a way I can check if they're good with a voltometer?

Voltmeter. Put test 85 ground and 86 positive, see if you hear it click.

It could be the A/C relay. You need to check the relay to see if it is good.
