Comments about Factory Air New Ford FS10 Clutch Assembly w/ Coil:

This ac clutch burnt up the first time the ac was used 2 weeks after the 3 hour install. It had no lube in the sealed bearing and it melted the side of it off. It fit good and worked to cycle it in. The first 70 deg. day it smoked.

Took some work dropping subframe and taking off fans to access the bolts, but finally I can fix the problem. Great Promo Code online too

Installation was complicated by having to lower subframe to access the compressor, but went smoothly after that was done. Part works just as well as OEM part.

Quality product and got a coupon which made it a good deal! Lowered the sub-frame to gain access to the compressor. Can be a long task if you've never done it. Be sure to use jack stands and a good floor jack!

Happy to answer your question! This AC clutch kit does not come with new shims. Typically you would reuse the shims you have to keep the same clearances.

Can the A/C clutch be removed and replaced without removing the compressor?

                      A:

It will take a special tool to remove the clutch. It is very tight area to work with compressor still on engine. You have to remove the front bolt which is not too hard. You then need a couple large scredrivers to pry/wiggle the clucth plate off the compressor. There is a snap ring holding the pulley on. It sits down inside pulley a good bit so you will not see it. You then have to use right angle snap ring pliers to spread the ring and remove it. The pulley will then slide off easily. If you can locate a pair of right angle medium snap ring pliers, you can do it with compressor on but this is not an easy task. For any further assistance, please call us toll free at: 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representative would be glad to assist you further.
