Comments about Evapo-Rust Rust Remover 1 gallon:

I had a bunch of drill bits that were exposed to some type of acid, they were severely rusted. I soaked them in Evapo-Rust overnight, to my surprise the next morning the rust was gone the bits looked new again. This made me a believer of this product and will use it on anything that can be dipped or soaked overnight.

Comments about Evapo-Rust Rust Remover 1 gallon:

I purchased this using a $5 off coupon which made this a great value. This stuff works wonders on lightly rusted tools. If used on heavily rusted tools all rust will be removed but putting will obviouslt remain. Just be sure to put a light coat of oil or wd40 on your tools otherwise the rust will come back. Great product.

Comments about Evapo-Rust Rust Remover 1 gallon:

I needed to recondition the chrome legs on a 1970 Pinball machine that had significant surface rust. I built a tray from sheet metal to allow me to submerge the 32" legs (one at a time). I called the Customer Service number on Evapo-Rust container to find out what I could seal the corners of the tray with and they told me anything. I used pop rivets and "DAP Acrylic Latex Caulk Plus Silicone" to seal the rivets & seams of tray. Directions said to submerge rusted parts for 1 to 12 hrs. It took 24 hrs/leg but legs turned out great. On the 3rd leg the Evapo-Rust solution turned milky brown and tray started leaking. Evapo-Rust apparently attacked the caulking and caulking now had the consistency of mustard. I called Evapo-Rust back and told them what happened and asked what I could seal the tray with ... they said they would check and call back but never did. After cleaning out caulking I re-sealed everything with "Seal-All", also available at auto part stores. It is gas and oil resistant and it held for me to finish the last two legs ... and seemed to still be in great shape. Even though the Evapo-Rust now looked milky brown it still continued to work great on the last 2 legs. Great product but disappointed with the Evapo-Rust Customer Service. Pic is of one leg in the tray I built.

can evapo-rust be used to clean inside of a radiator
Asked on 11/30/2015 by khawk from georgia

          A:

Hi Khawk, I am happy to help! The Evapo-Rust can be used to remove rust in radiators but it will damage the radiator if it has any kind of plastic. I would recommend visiting your local store we do carry other radiator flush kits which would work better for your project.

Happy to answer your question Kevin! From what I was able to find out this product is water-soluble, biodegradable, non toxic and non corrosive. BUT it is meant for use with metal items with rust so it may affect plastic. For cleaning plastic I suggest a cleaner called Purple Power Part No 4319PS it is a cleaner with more applications.
