Comments about Edelbrock Performer Series; Marine Carb:

Was forced to order online to receive $50 discount. Package arrived 3 business days later. Installation necessitated rerouting the feed line due to inline fuel filter but otherwise was straight forward and simple. Carb worked perfectly during shakedown cruise and idled without hesitation. I was pleased until the next day when I started the engine and it ran very rough and stalled and would not restart. Checking the carb showed gas running thru the carb (left side) into the manifold. Disassembled carb and found the float was full of fuel. Chatted online with Grace from Advance Auto Parts and explained the issue. Her instructions were to go to the store with the info and they would make it right.
Counter person at store promised that the part would be overnighted to the store and ready for pick up first ting in the morning. Went back next day and of course there was no part and no record. After speaking with the store manager it was resolved that he would talk with Edelbrock when they opened on the West Coast. He called later that day to say that Edelbrock would send a float to my house via Priority Mail. That was 3 days ago and I'm still waiting.
So if we tally this up, Carb ordered July 24, today is August 9, my boat is dead in the water, literally, all for a $50 savings? I don't think so! I've spent more than that in fuel from my house to the store.
I like the product, but the service needs to be tweaked.

Comments about Edelbrock Performer Series; Marine Carb:

I installed the Edelbrock 1409 on a 2009 Glastron GT205 to replace the standard Holley 2BBL. A new fuel line and adapter plate with pcv connection were also required. Throttle cable bracket had to be turned 180 degrees. Started fine. Adjusted mixture and idle and engine runs very smooth with great throttle response. Less than $410.00 for 25 to 30 more horsepower and a better running engine.

Is this Carburetor suitable for a ford 1964 289 interceptor motor

              A:

I'm happy to help, Grant! The Edelbrock Performer Series Marine Caruretor is designed and calibrated for optimum marine performance in small-block V8 engines with a variety of manifolds that include Edelbrock Performer, Performer RPM, RPM Air-Gap, Torker II and other brands of similar design. It is also ideal for Chevy 4.3L V6 engines with a Performer manifold. The carburetor may work for the engine. I have found that unless you are utilizing the additional performance parts like the Edelbrock intake manifolds, you may not have the performance you are expecting. I suggest looking for a remanufactured carburetor for your particular application or rebuilding the carburetor that is on the boat now.
