Q:is there anyway possible i can get a nosiy gear drive made for my grand cherokee, 97, 5.2L V8?
A:That would all have to be custom made or found through Jeep specialty places.
Q:will it work on a belt drive too
A:I do not believe so.
Q:is this product noisy????
A:This does produce a whining sound.
Q:Compared to a chain system how much additional noise if any? Other brands seem to make a lot of noise. Thanks
A:This generates a "gear-whine" noise.
A:Some folks will accuse you of having blower under the hood depending of course on what kind of vehicle it's in; example an older pick up truck with a large uncluttered engine bay will let out more engine sound than a tight ( to full to find the dip stick ) engine bay. What ever you put in will have a distinctive whine. But they do make noisy and quiet gear drives; quiet drives are actually better because they have smaller teeth and more teeth are intersecting at the same time. They usually come with a anti-friction coating to reduce wear and noise.
Q:do you have to buy any more parts to go with this or is it a bolt and play system
A:It is a bolt and play system basically.
Q:would this increase horsepower at all?
A:Just installing them won't but it will allow for you to change the timing which when done right, can improve horsepower.
Q:Doesv this run both cams or do I have to buy 2 sets?
A:The Edelbrock Timing gear, comes in a set to fit your particular engine type, if your engine is DOHC it will run both cams. For more information you can contact us at 1-877-ADVANCE or visit www.advanceautoparts.com
A:No it wont run both cams you have to get a the one for the DOHC this is for a SOHC
A:He's right. Check it out. Why does Advance's site show this for all vehicles?
