Comments about Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric Coating, Desert Sand, 11 oz. Aerosol:

works real good on headliner materials, except where the material has been scratched down to the under board. It will not cover or fill in those areas.

Comments about Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric Coating, Desert Sand, 11 oz. Aerosol:

I decided to use this to change the color of and renew the padded vinyl top on my 80's Cadillac. A few people online that have dine it recommended it because it easy to use, durable and offered a good color quality. The end results will be best if the vinyl is correctly prepped and of course in good condition. It's not a miracle product. If you need a new vinyl top there's no short cut, replace it. I went from white to Desert Sand Tan and it took 6 cans [it's a big Cadillac] and coverage was excellent. If you're going dark to light or light to dark, a medium/neutral color would be best nefore the final coat. Prep the surface and tape up the trim and it will look fantastic fo under $50 bucks! :)

Comments about Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric Coating, Desert Sand, 11 oz. Aerosol:

I used it to paint boat seats I repaired with old vinyl pieces of various colors. The result is very impressive. The paint is easy to apply, covers very well consistently, can be handled 10 minutes later, and fully respects the grain. Finished look is flat, clean, pleasant looking and it does not crack or peel even when walking with boots on the seats.
Make sure you spray very light coats fast and wait a few minutes between the coats is what I discovered.
Too bad they don't have any green (the original color of my seats + the boat). I also would have liked to find this product in regular (not spray) cans.

NOT GOOD FOR FLEXIBLE PARTS!!!

By

from Hardy, VA

Pros

  • Good for hard plastics

Cons

  • Cracks on flexible trim

Best Uses

Comments about Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric Coating, Desert Sand, 11 oz. Aerosol:

I painted some hard plastic parts and had no problem with this paint. I painted some seatbelt sleeves (that flex a bit) and they cracked very easily. If the part you are going to paint flexes even a little bit DONT USE THIS PAINT.
