I've gone through 13 cans of this stuff and I really like it. It doesn't smell as strong as other sprays, It applies pretty easy. If you can do well with rattle can paint then you can use this stuff. It is very messy though so make sure you tape off and cover everything you don't want covered in your area. If you don't follow the directions and try to do heavy coats you will get runs just like paint and it is a pain to clean up if you do so. If you do get small runs I recommend you blot it gently with a crumbled rag to pick up excess and give texture. I used this to coat 5 rims on my Jeep and it has held up great to road chemicals and such. It doesn't fade in the sun so I also used it to cover my fender flares, bumpers and side steps. It has held up great for over a year on my Jeep.
TIPS: It doesn't seem to cover as much as what the can says, but it's close. Wipe the nozzle with a rag THEN clear the nozzle. Shake very thoroughly at start and throughout use. Wear gloves, it's hard to clean off. Alcohol works good to clean it off paint and glass. Let it set up for a day before re-assembly if you are painting parts. Let it dry for a couple of hours then take tape off using a razor to get a clean tape line.

Flows out smooth, which is sort of the opposite of the desired effect when applying what is supposed to be a textured bed liner. It seems the trick is to apply several extremely light dust coats, which would be fine except that it takes an eternity to dry. I attempted to use this on my van's spare tire carrier and after waiting approx. 30 minutes for the first coat to tack up (it didn't) I ended up wiping it all off with a paper towel. Switched to another brand, no more problems.

Comments about Duplicolor Bed Armor, DIY Truck Bed Liner, Black, 16.5 oz. Aerosol:

I posted a review on this earlier with the same title, but now i finally have some results. I'm 'restoring' a 1992 Eagle Talon TSi AWD and decided that I'd like to DIY my subframe parts instead of sending them out to get powder-coated. I tried the roll-on product but didn't really like it, so I went with their spray-on. This gets 2 thumbs up from me. The pic I'll show is my main rear subframe crossmember. The results are pretty good, just shake the can thouroughly. I guess the first can I bought had sat on the shelf so long, it would never free the ball inside (and it never did). The second can I used did free the ball upon shaking, so shake often while you're using it. Shake the can in the store too, make sure you can at least hear the ball in there. Oh, also, your finish is in your prep, so this piece was sandblasted then sprayed with the duplicolor etch/primer.

Comments about Duplicolor Bed Armor, DIY Truck Bed Liner, Black, 16.5 oz. Aerosol:

I purchased a few different kinds of undercoating/bedliner spray on products to test out which I liked. So far have sprayed the duplicolor bedliner on a lower control arm, and the 3m rubberized undercoating product on the other lower control arm. I followed directions, and started shaking both cans. Almost immediately, I got the ball loose on the 3m can...after 3 minutes, my arm was numb, still didn't get the ball loose on the duplicolor; decided to spray both anyway. 3m came out of the can awesome; good pressure, nice bubbly product how I had envisioned it would look, duplicolor came out nice at first, but then the nozzle got drippy; goes on a little more "flat", coats nicely however. Turned both products upside down and sprayed to clear the product from the nozzel, 3m went just fine, Duplicolor cleared but then some product bubbled at the nozzle, had to manually wipe it off. Left the cans and control arms out in the sun and went back for a 2nd coat, the 3m can's ball was still loose; shook the Duplicolor vigorously again for 2 minutes, still no ball. I let them both sit for another 30 minutes after applying an extra coat. The 3m was dry, but underneath was not cured, as I smudged off a fingerprint-sized area and had to re-apply. Cautiously touching the duplicolor control arm, it felt much harder, and didn't smudge with some pressure. So after some thinking about what to write, if you're looking to coat stuff for sound-deadening and ease of use, the 3m is surely the product for wheel wells, etc. If you're looking to protect undercarriage parts from road debris, etc, I'll be sticking with the duplicolor. I'll just have to figure out how to shake the ball loose inside, maybe try the soak in hot water trick next time around.

I used this product for the base coat of the trim and to get down in the groves on my truck bed prior to rolling on the finished product that comes in liquid gallon form. I loved this and thought it did a great job. It also blended well with the final coat. I did disagree with the time the instructions said to wait to remove the tape after the final coat. The sooner the better for me so the tape did not pull some of the product up before drying. I guess you could have used a utility knife to prescore and waiting the time on the instructions.

This product suffers from a poorly designed nozzle which causes material to collect around the rim of the can thus dripping all over the working surface and user. I conducted a trial run of this product on a floor pan which will be covered with carpet before using elsewhere. I will NOT be using this product again. As a professional body tech, I have access to Rhino Liner and other products which are far superior. Use at your own risk.

Is this gas resistant? My jeep spurts gas from the filler neck on the heavy vinyl fender flares. Looking for something that won't fade when hit with the gas.
