Comments about Dual Electronics Single CD Receiver:

I just installed the stereo with a metra connector and tested the radio, CD player, and auxiliary input. They all worked. I think the audio quality was an improvement but it's hard to say since I haven't played many things on it yet or am able to test them side by side (By the way I have a 2006 toyota camry LE). I also left the stock speakers- looking to upgrade them later. It puts out plenty of volume at about half of what it can do. The faceplate is kinda shaky when you start pressing buttons but hasn't come off yet. Kinda annoying but it doesn't hurt its performance. Overall pretty satisfied.

  • Q:

I have a 1988 jeep wrangler. All the wiring, ie; speakers, antenna, power, is in the center console, not the dashboard. It has a slot for a stereo built in. The unit I'm replacing that fits in the slot is 2" high x 7" wide X 7" deep. Will this unit fit in there? Also, what's the total wattage as the jeep is wide open and I need a loud unit.

Hi TC, I am happy to help out! The Dual Electronics Single CD Receiver part no. XDM265 is a great stereo for your car. The stereo is a perfect fit for 88 Jeep Wrangles, the dimensions are the same of the ones you have provide me with. In addition, the receiver has a max power of 60 watts by its self. To increase the wattage of the stereo you would need to install an amplifier in addition to the stereo.

Hi Seamus, I'm glad to assist you! I would recommend that you read the owner's manual. Usually, you can get a good idea about the specific quirks of the model you've chosen, how it works, and how to install it. Collect your tools. You will likely need wire cutters and wire strippers, a screwdriver (usually Phillips head), and some electrical tape. Other tools and materials (if needed) are often included with your unit.
