Didn't last 24 hrs or 24 miles

Comments about Driveworks Wheel Hub Assembly Repair Kit:

I bought this product because it was not the cheapest but was not the most expensive either.I had the bearing pressed in by an experienced mechanic and installed the knuckle back on the vehicle myself and in less than 24 hours(and less than 24 miles) the bearing was in worse shape than the one I was replacing.Thankfully Advance stands behind it's sales and will return this and put it towards an upgraded bearing and hub assembly but I will not try another or any other product by drive works because it doesn't work.

                      • Q:

i bought this for 2004 ford explorer, V6.
last year i replaced the front wheel assembly and there
were some slight differences for installation vs the rear wheel.

Front wheel has 3 bolts securing the hub, not the large snap ring.
Front wheel does not require the wheel knuckle to be removed,
not sure if this one does or not.

so my question is, after i press the new bearing onto the new hub,
how do i get the old assembly out? specifically, do i need to remove the wheel knuckle and have the hub pressed out, or can i just use a puller to remove the hub after removing the retaining clip.

The instructions i got in the box are definetly generic and for the front wheel. 3 bolts on the front are shown, but no mention of the clip.

if you have any specific instructions for replacing the hub and bearing (the unit i purchased) on ford 2004 explorer, please send to my email address, or to a link where i can find it.

the included bearing must be pressed onto the included Hub.
But i am still unclear if the existing hub/bearing needs to be
pressed out of the wheel knuckle, or if it can be pulled out once the retainer ring is removed. if pressed out, then i assume the new one has to be pressed in, which means you press the bearing onto the hub, and then press the assembly into the wheel knuckle.
                          Is that correct?
