people comment on here that part is easy to install but this part has burnt out right after the 12 month warranty is up everyone has told me not to buy these cheaper ones and now i am seeing that its true that the cheaper part and its made from china and it won;t last.. go buy the national bearing and you won;t invest the time in swapping out the parts save yourself some time.

Comments about Driveworks Wheel Hub Assembly:

I installed it only a couple weeks ago so will have to see how durable it is yet, but it was an exact match to OEM part. Pretty simple install but did have to use the loan a tool service since it required a 34mm deep well socket to remove the axle hub nut. Just a heads up to save everyone else a trip back to the store if you don't have metric deep wells that large.

Comments about Driveworks Wheel Hub Assembly:

Only problem I had was removing the three bolts on the original bearing. My impact wrench is weak so it was tough to remove them. Had to use a breaker bar and work them out. I had to replace two of the bolts for install, I know some say replace all three. Replacement part looked the same as the OEM part. Took me four hours, but I was in no hurry.

Paying the price for trying to save a few bucks.
I replaced the OE hub assembly with this part and now (3 months, ~6000 miles later) I'm doing it again. I guess we'll see how the warranty process works... THIS time, I'll go with Moog or Timken.

I replaced the driver side on my 2004 Monte Carlo because of noise. Noise stopped and returned less than 2000 miles later. I figured it had to be passenger side this time so replace it but still had noise. Had to replace driver side again to stop noise and it stopped but returned less than 2000 miles later. Cheap product and not just the price. Do not buy this item. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy.

Bought 2 of these hubs to replace the front 2 on my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix that had gone bad, getting the old ones off was horrible because the bolts were rusted in place and didnt have air tools to break them loose but once off the new ones were easy to install...that said the passenger side rides smooth and has no noise or vibration to it but driver side rides rough and can feel vibration at highway speeds. Also the ABS sensor is attached to the hubs and is a pain in the butt as you have to take the connector apart and stick the 2 wires through a rubber gasket to the backside and then put it back together...the driver side ABS sensor wire pulled out of the back of the hub so I have no anti-lock brakes until I replace it which is going to be tomorrow. I understand that sometimes you get bad parts and not every one of them is going to be perfect so as long as the new hub i get to replace this one turns out good I would still recommend these.

Hi Todd, tricky question! The wheel bearings could be the possible cause of the issue. The problem may be even with the plastic wire loom that covers the wires that goes to the wheel bearing speed sensor has a split in it that allows dirt and water to enter the wire loom and rot the plastic wire cover causing the wire to split. when you turn your steering wheel the wire weakens and it also rubs on the tie rod. You can even fix this problem by a new harness from the main harness to the wheel speed sensor. However, this needs a mechanic's expertise to determine. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

                                      A:

When a Wheel Bearing or Hub Assembly is bad, it will usually make a noise. The noise can vary when you turn, and also with speed. This grinding noise indicates that your wheel bearings are bad, and you should replace them. Common noises are squeaks, chirps, squeals, moans, grinding, growling, whining, etc. This noise usually does not vary with braking. If you are experiencing noise while breaking or that varies with applied brake pressure, then you most likely need to replace your brakes. Another way, To check a wheel bearing, grasp the tire at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions and attempt to rock the tire (while the wheel is lifted off the ground). If you feel any play, the bearings are loose and need to be replaced. Also, rotate the tire by hand. Any roughness or noise from the bearings would also tell you the bearings are worn or damaged and need to be replaced. Also, If one wheel bearing is faulty, pay close attention to all of the other hubs on the vehicle, too, especially if the vehicle has a lot of miles on it. Chances are some of the other bearings may also need replacement.

                                      A:

Normally this wheel hub assembly is built into the wheel hub and designed to be replaced as a single unit. This reduces the number of special tools you will need, because there is no need to pull or press the bearing. Expect to spend about half an hour replacing the wheel hub and bearing assembly which is moderately easy to replace.
