This part worked as it was supposed to and removed the ABS sensor lights to allow me to get an emmissions test. I spoke to a dealer mechanic and he directed me to buy the pair (for both front wheels). He said 75% of the time or more the other bearing on the opposite side goes bad within weeks of changing either side, this is due to the inner sensor contact wearing and corroding and it tends to be on GM vehicles with between 60k and 90K miles and anywhere from 5-10 years old depending on driving conditions. So far the rears arent giving any signs of problems so all is good. Difficulty in changing out was average although I have impact drivers for bolt removal, a breaker bar is atleast required to remove the axle nut although i had more of a difficult time removing the hub bolts since they are removed from behind the knuckle and were torqued somewhat tight for smaller size bolts. These were challenging to get to with tools but i was lucky enough to turn the wheel in either direction to allow room for a small impact with extention. NOTE: THIS PRODUCT STATES "DO NOT TORQUE AXLE NUT ABOVE LISTED TORQUED SPECS" use a good torque wrench to assure your repair work is done right the first time.

Bearing service life is short (~1 year) due to ABS reluctance design. I have installed several of these only to have them fail later on for ABS reasons and not bearing failure. Typically ABS failure begins being sensitive to thermal elements such as environment, usage and heating rotor. Appears from other comments that others are having early failure as well. At least warranty helped in some cases cover the part expense.

Comments about Driveworks Wheel Hub Assembly:

Installed this on a 2004 Olds Alero. Exact fit, no problems with installation. It took care of the noise problem, hasn't been installed very long to know if it is a quality part that will hold up. Decent price.

Does not include axle nut and Advance did not carry so was forced to use old one.

Comments about Driveworks Wheel Hub Assembly:

I ordered this online and picked it up in the store. Save something like 15 bucks. The unit was as advertised. The only complaint I have is it did not come with an axle nut. I've read you are NOT to reused the axle nut but they don't sell them separately and don't send them with this unit. I then bought another unit for the other side, exactly like this one, from a competitor (it wasn't because I was mad or anything it just happened that way) and theirs came with an axle nut. There was no difference in price so that can't be it.

I'd be happy to help you with that! For this style hub you would need a basic tool set containing the correct size socket and ratchet you need for the mounting bolts. You may need to use a slide hammer to remove the hub once the mounting bolts are off.

Do you also sell the bolts that attach this? I'd like to replace my old ones. I tried doing a search on the site but came up with nothing. 3 bolts that take a 13mm socket.

No, you do not need puller to remove this hub assembly. Take off the caliper and caliper mount as well as the rotors and the cv shaft bolt. Then remove each of the four bolts from the back side of the steering knuckle that hold the wheel hub on, from there you will be able to take the hub off, most of the time it almost freely comes away from the knuckle but sometimes if you are replacing it just hit it with a good sized hammer and it will come off easily.
