Bearing service life is short (~1 year) due to ABS reluctance design. I have installed several of these only to have them fail later on for ABS reasons and not bearing failure. Typically ABS failure begins being sensitive to thermal elements such as environment, usage and heating rotor. Appears from other comments that others are having early failure as well. At least warranty helped in some cases cover the part expense.

Comments about Driveworks Wheel Hub Assembly:

Purchased part for my daughters 2004 Pontiac Grand AM after she had an accident. Part was a good quality for the price. I would definitely use Advance Auto again to purchase parts. Only problem I had with this part was when I got part to mechanic there was a different part in the box, so check parts before leaving the store. Salesperson was great about returning part.

    • Didn't Include A New Nut

    Best Uses

Comments about Driveworks Wheel Hub Assembly:

This is a good cost effective replacement for the stock hub. However, it does not include anything but the hub assembly. The large hub nut that should be replaced with every change was not included with the kit.

Having air impact tools is a time saver for installing this item. It also requires cleaning of the the mounting surfaces and prepping them before installing the new hub assembly. Having lock-tite for the bolts is a good idea too. When removing the brake caliper assembly be sure to support it and don't allow it to hang from the hose.

Beyond that it does not come with the nut that GM strongly urges you to replace. the part is weak. 1st one lasted 6 months, second one rumbles upon installation, 3rd one bad ABS sensor, and number 4 came apart in 2 pieces after 10,000 miles, With it apart its easy to see why it fails. barely any lubricant.

Product fit great on my chevy classic. It was great the advance auto parts had this in stock. I ordered one thru an online store and the part was wrong and I had the car all a part. The closest advance auto was a 40 minute trip, but atleast the part was correct and I was able to get the car back together that day. The cost was a lot more but having the part on hand was a life saver. This was my daughter in laws car and she relies on it to get to work. It has only been 2 weeks since install, but so far so good.

I'd be happy to help you with that! For this style hub you would need a basic tool set containing the correct size socket and ratchet you need for the mounting bolts. You may need to use a slide hammer to remove the hub once the mounting bolts are off.

No, you do not need puller to remove this hub assembly. Take off the caliper and caliper mount as well as the rotors and the cv shaft bolt. Then remove each of the four bolts from the back side of the steering knuckle that hold the wheel hub on, from there you will be able to take the hub off, most of the time it almost freely comes away from the knuckle but sometimes if you are replacing it just hit it with a good sized hammer and it will come off easily.
