Comments about Driveworks Hub and Bearing Assembly:

This was a perfect fit for my 2000 Blazer. The only issue is it only lasted 7 months then the bearing went bad. Went to store to get replacement for the bad one. When I got to store nothing but headaches.

Comments about Driveworks Hub and Bearing Assembly:

I bought the higher priced one last time and it lasted maybe 5 years so I decided to try the cheaper one this time. Installation is a breeze and should take less than two hours. Remove the tire/wheel, remove the brake caliper (two 18mm bolts), remove caliper mounting bracket(two 18mm bolts),disconnect the antilock brake sensor wire (the connector is on top of the swing-arm behind the rubber flap) and remove hub assembly (three 18mm bolts). Remember to lubricate the caliper slide bolts before installation.

Why do we need to replace the hub instead of just the bearings.

                      A:

Good question, David! You don't need to replace the hub. You need to remove the hub from the suspension and have the bearing pressed out and replace it. The hub is then inserted into the new bearing.

                      A:

Well this all depends on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part. Some may have a harder time than others who have experience. I would recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.
