Comments about Driveworks Transmission Filter Kit:

Installed on 2001 Ford Taurus. I actually did use the gasket that came with as the factory one looked a bit suspect given this was 4th trans service on it. Everything installed quickly/easily and no leaks. Works as advertised.

        • Fit My Ford Windstar

Comments about Driveworks Transmission Filter Kit:

I Have a 1998 ford windstar with a hundred and thirty thousand miles on it . The transmission was working only for the first ten miles or so and then would only go to second gear.A neighbor of mine suggested I change the filter but because of its age not the fluid. Instead drain the fluid from the pan and strain it and return all but a quart. The filter change was a snap the directions where perfect and now I am back on the road all the gears are working. The transmission places wanted five hundred dollars to examine the problem. For the cost of the filter and some fluid and my time I'm back on the road!

Comments about Driveworks Transmission Filter Kit:

if your car has a rubber gasket on the vehicle already, it is a re-usable gasket. Do not replace with the gasket provided...also make sure you only tighten the bolts to 10ft lbs of torque, otherwise you will bend the pan at each bolt hole and it will leak like a civ.

took a little over 7 quarts of Merc V for it to be right at the top of the cross hatch on the dip stick. (may differ for you, i would start at 5 qrts and go from there) Trans shifts a lot smoother from reverse to drive and into park...no more hard shift into gear.

Car was a 2000 Ford Taurus 3.0L Flex Fuel with the 17 bolt AX4S Trans.

I have used 2 of these on my 97' Ford Windstar, 3.8L and have not needed the gasket provided. The filter and gasket both fit my van just fine though, and seam to do the job.
