Product is much better than the OE cast aluminum piece. The mounting studs are longer because this piece has nuts that allow you to use 2 wrenches to tighten the bolts as opposed to the 1 wrench and allen wrench required by the original equipment. The length is no problem you just turn the wheel to allow extra clearance on the upper strut mounting location. If you install with the weight off of the vehicle be sure to recheck the torque once the vehicle is back on the ground. I am very pleased with all aspects of this part, price, quality, fit, and performance.

My old sway bar links were worn out and the front end was noisy. I bought these and was surprised how tight the ends felt when trying to move them by hand, but installed them anyway. I shouldn't have. There was so much "sticktion" in the ends the resulting front end noise was terrible - worse than the old worn out ones. I ended up returning them and getting the Moog version - a lot more expensive, but they were much smoother and I could work the ends by hand - and they were dead quiet when installed. Maybe these would loosen up and get quieter with age, but I couldn't put up with the noise to wait it out.

I've used other Driveworks stuff with good results (installed tie rod ends at the same time as these and they're fine...) but these were just bad. Check 'em out in the store, if you can't move the end bolts by hand, don't take them.

BTW, there's a lot of comments about the bolt being too long - but if you turn the steering wheel to the extreme when installing(can't remember which way, but it'll be obvious) there will be plenty of clearance room. The Moog part was exactly the same way...

My 2009 Ford Escape had a clunking noise , I couldn't figure out what it was it sounded terrible , I looked it up on Youtube I typed in "2009 Ford escape front end clunking noise" and it said it was the sway bar link and that's what it was , Youtube also showed how to replace them , Advanced had them in stock , I replaced front breaks and rotors at the same time it was around 60,000 mi. The car feels like new again , Advance is a great parts store they seem to always have everything in stock at all times

Clerk said the noise would go away with some use but it hasn't. Will replace them with warranty.

You will be better off getting the better, more expensive, option.

Replaced the links on my 2005 Escape with these.
Too much sticktion as mentioned by other reviewer. The rattle was replaced with a crunching sound instead. Replaced these 1 mo. later with the Moog brand and am a happy camper.

Comments about Driveworks Sway Bar Link Kit:

Spend the the extra cash on the more expensive sway bar links. These were easy to install once you turn your steering wheel to allow for clearance because of long screw. However once installed I immediately could feel a vibration when I turned the steering wheel. Within one short test drive the bolt on one side vibrated loose due to the heavy vibration. This caused heavy clunking sounds into turns. Currently taking off and installing the more expensive links. Truly get what you pay for with these.

These are near impossible to insall on my 2005 Ford Escape with 4X4. The bolt on the end is extremly long. Ended up buying Duralast links that were 100x easier to install.

Do not buy for 2005 Escape

Picked up this component to replace a RF link on an escape for a friend. Come to find this link 1 and a half inches longer than OEM, the only way to fit this piece would be to bend the sway bar and put it under a lot of stress.

These will fix the annoying sounds coming from the front of the ford escape. They are a pretty simple install, and also gets rid of the annoying body roll.

These are better than the awful stock part that fails after about 40k
