I replaced both of my links on my 96 Explorer with these. After about 5 months the driver side has somehow loosened by itself. The passenger side both sets of bushing have cracked in half. I will be tightening up the driver side and getting a warranty replacement for the passenger side. If these fail again I will be returning for the better quality Moog parts

I am an ASE Master mechanic with 16 years of dealership experience and these links worked out very well. The bolt was a high grade bolt. The rubber pieces were firm and high quality and did not completely flatten when tightened. Time will tell if the rubber will hold up. The vehicle had a bad bouncing/swaying motion. The original links were broken and the new link kit fixed the problem. I felt the link kit was a high quality part and as of right now I would use it on another vehicle and recommend using the Driveworks link kit.

Installed these on 3rd gen Explorer abut 18 months ago. Customer came back for brake work and saw the bushings for these had either cracked or completely desintigrated. This is why I try to reuse the OEM bushings on Fords wherever possible. The weak point on those are the bolt, the bushings even after 10 years are usually fine. Save yourself the headache and ignore these.

Comments about Driveworks Suspension Sway Bar Link Kit:

These were installed on a 1996 Ford Explorer 5 months ago. During these past five months the links had to be tightened twice due to the bushings compressing to roughly 1/2 of the original thickness. During the process of turning into pancakes, all four bushing pieces have either split completely or have cracked to a point that they will split shortly. A second issue is that after these were installed and the vehicle driven for 1 day, I checked the links and found the driver's side nut was at the base of the bolt. After taking the assembly apart, I found that the threads were stripped. Thank goodness for being a pack rat and not throwing things away. The original nut and bolt have held up the same as they have for the past decade or two. Based on my experience, find a better part. I am a fan of Advance but these parts are not worth your time or money.

Well this all depends on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part. Some may have a harder time than others who have experience. I would recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.

                • A:

It is not hard to install but you will need to have the vehicle on a jack or preferably a jack stand and a jack under the lower control arm to jack it up so the bolt reaches all the way through. The hard part is getting the old one out. I had to hacksaw it out on my truck due to norther salt/rust.
