        A:

Happy to help you with your question Larry! This part is a press in fit part. Many of our stores carry the ball joint pressing tool available to rent. The part will look similar to Part No 648602 it will be the middle C-clamp. Before going to the store call ahead to be sure they have it available for rent it may already be rented out.

        A:

I'm glad to assist, Larry! The lower ball joint on the 2001-2005 Ford Escape does require a press to remove and install the Driveworks Suspension Ball Joint (Part No. DW-K80107). Advance Auto Parts offers a selection of ball joint removal tools that can be loaned to customers. Check with your local Advance Auto Parts store for availability.

You can learn more about loaner tools and find the tool you may need here: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/o/loaner-tools. The ball joint press will be found under the Chassis Tools.
