    • Q:

This part is recommended for my 94 Dodge Ram B250 Van. When installed is it slides right in with no resistance. What will keep this in place? It slides in and out of the control arm. Seems dangerous.

The control arm is threaded to allow this ball joint to "screw" in. Often what happens is these threads become ate up by road conditions and the threads will totally strip upon removal of the old ball joint. The only safe solution is the purchase a new control arm. I tack welded mine in and it has held up fine but I am not recommending this.

I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

Yes.You must have what is called a "Ball joint socket".There are Two different size sockets,a large and a small. The size depends on the model and year Chrysler you are working on.You should be able to rent or barrow the tool from advance auto.
