Chinese Ball Joint

  • Decent Quality

Cons

  • Pot Metal Grease Fitting

Best Uses

Comments about Driveworks Suspension Ball Joint:

Chinese made ball joints. Seem to be decent quality although that'll require actual usage to determine how they'll hold up. Much cheaper than the Moog joints so I might end up paying for that. We'll see. Can't beat the price though. Less than half the price of the Moog joints. One thing to watch out for though. The grease fittings are fecal. Don't know if they're aluminum or pot metal. I ended up putting one in, snapped it off even though I was being gentle with it. I ended up having to go to Advance and buy a set of grease fittings made of steel for an extra $6 or so. Take that into account when you buy them. The OEM grease fittings do not work with the Chinese made joints. The Chinese made joints are metric, OEM are SAE.

Do these require being pressed into the lower arm? Or do you just slide them in easily?

        A:

Happy to answer your question Farm Tech! These styles of ball joints are easier to install. When taking it out it usually just takes a firm hit with a hammer for it to come loose after the associated bolts are undone. Installation is just bolting the bottom part up then getting the knuckle over the ball joint stud then tightening the castle nut and using a new cotter pin. If you are doing the service yourself be sure to have the vehicle jacked up properly and exercise safety when working and be sure to use goggles or safety glasses.
