How can I tell if I have variable assist power steering?

              A:

Hi Lefty, glad to assist you! There are two kinds of variable assist power steering called magnasteer and variable effort steering (VES) respectively. For variable effort steering, look for a wiring harness going to the solenoid on the output line of the pump, at the pump and for magnasteer, look for a wiring harness coming off of the rack at the spool valve.

              A:

No, this Driveworks Steering Tie Rod End(inner) is for one side only. You can buy another for the other side too. I would highly recommend replacing both of the inners if one is worn the other is not far behind.

It helps to use a fork tool to take the tie rod ends off easily and properly. You can rent them from advance auto for no cost. All you have to do is leave a deposit until your done using it.

For help with your project, I recommend getting a repair manual specifically for your vehicle. It should be able to help you with detailed instructions on how to do many things.
