Comments about Driveworks Steering Tie Rod End:

The original steering tie rod end just had a the part and a nut. This Driveworks replacement comes with a with a thinner flimsier bolt and a washer which gives no instruction on what to do with. So I have to spend an hour online looking up info to see where this washer goes. So when I go to have my alignment done they may charge me to fix a part I put on wrong.
    Sincerely: Warren Monroe

This product states it is an exact fit for 2006 Dodge Ram but it has wiggle room when you are tightening it. Is this normal. It secures down good when it is completely tight.

        A:

Happy to assist Brandon! It does show to be an exact fit for your 06 Dodge Ram, what you are experiencing is normal. There should be some play when putting the tie rod end on but when the lock nut is tightened there should be no play.

    • Q:

The factory part doesn't have a washer and a nut to attach to the steering tie rod it just had a much thicker nut. My question is where does the washer go and why is the nut thinner and flimsier on the new part when usually aftermarket parts are made better than factory in most of my experience?

        A:

We apologize for the inconvenience caused. The original equipment part which is interchangeable with a Driveworks Steering Tie Rod End - Part No. DW-ES3538 is the Moog Tie Rod End - Part No. ES3538. The latter part comes with a thicker nut/washer single piece for the tie rod. We will need more information including the year, make, model, and engine size of your application before we can make a suggestion. Please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
