Comments about Driveworks Steering Tie Rod End:

I was pleased with the itme and the installation. For other First Timers, don't forget these are Left Handed Threads, in other words Lefty Tighty, Righty Loosey, which is not the norm. I am happy to get rid of the greaseless noisy OEM parts and having new parts that I can grease and perform "preventative maintenance" on and not wait until corrective maintenace is required.

Comments about Driveworks Steering Tie Rod End:

Made the job easy by buying inner and outer tie rod ends and Moog adjusting sleeves. Like other reviews that I have read. The cotter key hole that is drilled in the threaded shaft is drilled to low and cannot get cotter key through the castle nut and shaft hole. I even put a breaker bar on it to get the nut tighter to the point of stripping out the nut and decided to just use a smaller cotter key. The inner tie rod ends came with straight zerts, that will not work even if you turn the wheel, replaced with 45 degrees zerts

Comments about Driveworks Steering Tie Rod End:

This along with the sleeves and inners are an excellent replacement for the non-greasable type from Ford. The low cost alternative but quality replacement makes this along with the other components an excellent brand to use for aging suspension repairs.

                    A:

Symptoms of a Bad Tie Rod End: Alignment: A car that goes out of alignment quickly may have a bad tie rod end. As the tie rod end fails, the toe of the tires will change and the car will not drive in a straight line without the steering being controlled. Noise: A clunking or grinding noise when making a tight turn is a symptom of a bad tie rod end. Determining which side of the vehicle the sound is coming from is a quick way to know which tie rod to check. Tire wear: Uneven tire wear is an indicator of a bad tie rod. If one tire is wearing out more quickly than the others, or if one side of the tire has more wear, then that tie rod should be inspected. Steering: Steering that feels loose or is unresponsive is another symptom of a bad tie rod. Having to over steer to control the car is another indication that the tie rod connection is not operating correctly.
