well i have a 94 F-150 with a 4.9 liter straight six engine. the description of this starter says its an exact fit but it most certainly was not. i had to put washers between the starter and the fly wheel housing. the teeth on the starter were touching the flywheel even when starter wasnt engaged. so when i started the truck up, it sounded like a motor being forced too fast. sure nuff, got under the truck and the starter was smoking. i shut it off, replaced the starter with a fresh one, and added the washers. i had to make about a 1/4 inch gap between the starter and the flywheel housing. the starter works top notch but the description shouldnt say it fits a 94 f150 with a 4.9 liter engine.

Removing and installing a starter on a 96 E-250 w/a 4.9L is a PITA! The new starter looked very clean and all. It fired right up. Unfortunately, it won't stop and will eventually burn up. Not a good 1st impression. I will have to return it and get something else. Also, I am loosing money now because I have to take it off AGAIN, and install it AGAIN! Gas, time....I feel like I got the shaft!

We would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.
