Comments about Driveworks Remanufactured Water Pump:

2003 Chevy Venture - I replaced the original water pump in June 2012 with a CarQuest new pump which had the cast iron impellers. Started leaking July 2016. Current picture of the CarQuest pump shows stamped steel impellers, so I went with this remanufactured Driveworks pump with cast iron impellers. Fits perfect, working fine. I reused original screws - this pump came with 5 studs.

Comments about Driveworks Remanufactured Water Pump:

Used this as a 3rd replacement on a 1997 3.1L Monte Carlo. This OEM cast-impeller style works best for this specific style of car engine. The original water pump had a seal failure.
The 2nd (replacement) water pump had the 'improved' impeller style that was stamped steel with 5-vanes. This style of pump did not work with the pump casing on this car. Fluid flow was not produced and the engine would overheat after warm-up and use. Also, the vane height was such that after belt installation and running the engine, the vanes would rub against the internal walls of the pump housing causing a constant grinding noise. Prior to belt installation, the pump would spin freely by hand without any noise.
The 3rd replacement pump (the Driveworks Remanufactured Water Pump) works for this car. No more grinding noise. Good fluid flow that keeps the engine running at proper temperatures and allows for cabin heat (Another issue also involving thermostat replacement).
Apparently the pump housing for this particular car is shaped such that only the original OEM style cast impeller works and this product fits the bill.

Comments about Driveworks Remanufactured Water Pump:

It's been about a month since I did the job and the growling belt noise and leak are now gone. Product worked as designed. Came with the gasket.

Fairly easy install, but on the Pontiac Montana you have to take a lot of stuff off to gain access. Take your time, and removing the battery will make it a lot easier to do.

Good price made great with a AdvAuto discount code.

Comments about Driveworks Remanufactured Water Pump:

I couldn't install this pump as the bolt holes on the supplied gasket didn't match up. 2nd trip to the store, costing time and fuel, took another one off the shelf and it had the same problem. I had to select a higher priced pump (at my expense again), to get a matching gasket. I recommend selecting the next higher grade the first time to be safe.
