After reading some of the comments I was nervous to use this pulley. I got a new pump and used pulley tool to assemble. It took a little lubricant but worked like a charm. So far there are no problems and the pulley is working great. My only advice would be to make sure you have a good Vice and table to put this on or press it on while attached to the block like I did. In any case this is working great for me and I will be sure to let you folks know if I run into any further problems. So far so good. Now off to my next project...

Couldn't get it to fit on

Couldn't get this to fit on the shaft of the power steering pump. Ended up breaking it trying to get it on.

Comments about Driveworks Power Steering Pump Pulley:

Perfect match for the old one. To much of a pain to remove old pully when new pully is so economical so bought a new one. Which is still a chore to put on the new pump.

Works great! If you don't use a press.

Comments about Driveworks Power Steering Pump Pulley:

As the directions say, do not use a press, do not use a hammer. You'll need one of these pulleys if you cannot remove the old pulley from your old pump and the new pump did not come with a pulley. Use the loan-tool program and borrow the professional-grade installer. If the store you go to does not have it, go to another. DO NOT use the install kit sold in the bubble pack. That bubble pack installer will not work with this pulley.

Comments about Driveworks Power Steering Pump Pulley:

I should have read the reviews. Absolute disappointment. The materials are not up to the job and I could see it failing in use and possibly becoming dangerous shrapnel!

I have used other Dorman products with complete satisfaction. This item is not suitable.

Comments about Driveworks Power Steering Pump Pulley:

I did not read the reviews, a BIG mistake on my part! It really is not worth the effort. Even the "loaner" pulley removal kit from Advance would not fit the pulley!

Zero star is not an option. Truly wish that it was an option!

                      A:

When replacing the Power Steering Pump pulley, you will need to have a power steering pump pulley and pulley installer. For the directions on how to change the pulley, I suggest visiting your local Advance Auto Parts store and purchasing Haynes Repair Manual. The manual will provide you with detailed instructions on how to replace any part on your vehicle.

Do I need special equipment to Slide the Pump pulley onto a new Power Steering Pump shipped separately?
I'd like to just install pump reservoir and pulley as a unit.
