I installed two of these more than 5 months and 30k miles ago onto my 2001 Yukon. They are working flawlessly since. The key is to torque everything to specification and in accordance with the repair manual's proceedure. Especially the axle nut! Tightening blindly or using an air gun on the axle nut will cause this, or any other hub, to fail prematurely, if not immediately. If you just slap parts on then you can count on doing it two or three times.

Comments about Driveworks Hub and Bearing Assembly:

I PURCHASED THIS PRODUCT TWO YEARS AGO TO REPLACE A FAILED LEFT FRONT BEARING ON A 01 SILVERADO 4X4.I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY AND THE FACT THAT IT CAME WITH THE ABS SENSOR.PURCHASED IT ON LINE AND PICKED IT UP AN HOUR LATER. LAST WEEK I FOUND I HAD TO REPLACE THE RIGHT SIDE. BACK TO MY FRIENDS AT ADVANCE AUTO. ORDERED ON LINE PICKED UP HALF HOUR LATER, EASY AND CONVENIENT. THE JOB HOWEVER WAS MISERABLE,OLD BEARINGS WERE TOTALLY RUSTED IN PLACE. IF NOT FOR THAT PROBLEM THE JOB WOULD HAVE BEEN A SNAP. I REALLY APPRECIATE MY LOCAL ADVANCE AUTO STORE AND THE COUNTER FOLKS WHO HAVE BEEN A BIG HELP IN FINDING DIFFICULT TO LOCATE PARTS FOR MY CLASSIC CORVETTE AS WELL.

My brother in law put this part on in about 1 hour and it's working fine. The part was a reasonable price with the online ordering discount and overall save my about 275.00 on the overall fix. Like that it comes with a new ABS cable.

The wheel bearing may be the possible cause of the problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

We would suggest you to refer the vehicle owner’s manual for the exact torque specifications of the hub assembly in order to avoid to intermittence.
