Replaced worn OEM bearing hub on 2002 Durango with this product. Between 10K - 12K (14 months, out of warranty), bearing began to growl when exceeding 25MPH. The bearing made a constant growl/hum above 25mph which complicated diagnosing problem. The bearings are manufactured in China and did not last (compared to OEM over 100K miles). If you are going to repair vehicle, find a quality bearing hub for your job, not this one. I spoke with mechanic and he said this product is what shops put on a vehicle when they aren't concerned about customers returning for follow-on business.

i knew the old was bad, original equipment on a wisconsin truck. Right front has 25,000 miles, 2+years old and is doing great so far, need to watch your pre-load torque. i am very happy with the quality and value.

Comments about Driveworks Hub and Bearing Assembly:

I bought this hub unit, installed it correctly and torqued it properly, but it was out of spec. The inner race was too big for the spindle, and I could not eliminate the play in the bearings. After it was properly torqued, I could still grab the front wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock and rock it back and forth just like you would with a bad bearing. Very poor quality and fit. I took it right off and returned it and had to get the Moog, which was more money but is a quality unit.

Comments about Driveworks Hub and Bearing Assembly:

I had two Durangos, just sold one. I have had to replace Hubs on both of them twice. I have had to warranty these hubs twice one on both vehicles. I now have to do the other one on the Durango I still have. I will be spending the extra money this time as the warranty has just run out on it. If you need to get by and save some money but don't care to have to do it again a year later go ahead and waste your time and your money. Also this item does not come with new spindle nut so that's another $30 you have to spend separately, so all and all your not saving much.

I'm happy to help, Greenpunk! This Driveworks Hub and Bearing Assembly does not include a new retaining nut. A spindle nut must be purchased separately. The correct spindle nut for your 1997-2004 Dodge Dakota RWD or 1997-2003 Dodge Durango RWD is Dorman Autograde Part No. 615-186.
