Driveworks Hub and Bearing Assembly

Comments about Driveworks Hub and Bearing Assembly:

The Driveworks Hub and Bearing Assembly was a perfect fit for my 2001 Ford Ranger four wheel drive. I saw video's of people beating the hub off with a 3lb hammer. When I removed my three bolts holding it on, mine practically fell out of socket. Sweet! And the new one went right in with no forcing on it. All in all start to finish, first time I ever did this was two hours. The only problem I had was the end of the ABS wire plug did not fit the existing socket of the old one. I just cut the wires, swapped out the old for the new, and heat shrinked the wires. Plugged it back into socket and tested. No problems. Road tested and all was perfectly quiet on that side of the truck. However... it was so quiet I could faintly hear the other front bearing. Nothing like getting some hands on training. !!!

Comments about Driveworks Hub and Bearing Assembly:

Product was easy to install and was a complete integrated unit for bearings and anti-lock brake sensor. Had growling noise (bearings) and faulty anti-lock brake action. This fixed both issues.
Only concern - original part had O ring, this part did not (had to reuse old one).

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Sorry, a worn hub would not cause the 4 wheel drive from engaging. The problem should be a transfer case problem and could be as simple as a linkage problem. Some of vehicles use a vacuum, or electrical switch/solenoid on the transfer case, which has vacuum, or electrical lines running to the front differential that can be pulled loose, or the switch itself can be faulty. If your transfer case is shifted electrically, then it may be just a bad ground to the transfer case. For any further assistance, you may also visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.
