Comments about Driveworks Control Arm Front Lower Left:

My wife and I changed out both left and right upper and lower control arms on her 1999 F150. Took most of a Friday as I have only typical low use shop tools. We also changed out the shocks. The control arms fit the vehicle exactly. We saved $360 in labor costs.

I took the truck in for alignment and it was very close to aligned, based on our marking the original arms' locations. Product may or may not be 5 stars, as I can only tell over time; however, the truck has 123K miles on it and the new ride is solid and steering is great.

Now that I have changed the arms, I expect to only change the ball joints (factory ball joints required changing the arms).

Comments about Driveworks Control Arm Front Lower Left:

I need to replace the lower ball joint, but for the price it was a better value to buy the lower control arm with the ball joint and bushing already installed. Install time only took about 2 hrs with common tools. I would have spent at least twice as much time if just changed ball joint. I was concerned about pressing the ball joint out squarely after reading a tech bulletin online. If you do not press the old one out perfectly square the hole maybe come over sized and the lower control has to be replaced any way. After I removed old lower control arm, I discovered that the bushings were pretty much shot . It was a good thing that i replaced the whole unit.

do this product stop sqeakingness on both side after you have brand new struts, and fairly new upper ball joint assembly?

                  A:

Control arms are part of the suspension system. They attach suspension members to the chassis and manage the motion of the wheels so that it synchronizes with that of the body of the car. They work with bushings, which are cylindrical linings that reduce friction and restrain the auto parts from going every which way which would result on joy rides without feeling sick and dizzy, as there is control and smoothness in the movement of the car.

Do these fit 4x4 2002 F150 even though the description says RWD?

                  A:

Since your truck is a 4X4 you need to get the control arm that is for the 4X4.
