Comments about Driveworks Cabin Air Filter:

I have an older F150 that didn't have the factory cabin air filter option installed. Over time, my coil became clogged with dust and grime. Accessing the coil on my truck is tricky since you basically have to remove the entire passenger side of the firewall.

My solution was this - cut out the spot where the factory cabin air filter should have been. Clean the coil through this opening using evaporative coil cleaner and a refrigerator brush. When the coil is cleaned, install this filter in the opening.

It's a perfect fit and you don't have to worry about blocking it off with tape, foam, etc. In addition, all your cabin air is now filtered.

Don't be scared - buy it!

          A:

Hi Frank, glad to help you! The cabin air filter is located on the back left side of the engine, next to the heater fan. You will see a black cover over the top of the container. Look for a black casing that will be about 10" across and 8" high. The box sits vertically against the firewall of the vehicle. To get more specific information on the location of this part I would recommend purchasing a Chilton or Haynes Repair Manual for your vehicle, not only will it show the location and also explain how to install, but you'll find it handy for many more projects on your vehicle. The exact repair manual part number for your vehicle is 36059.

Where is the location (if equipped) of the cabin air filter for a 2003 Ford F350 Super Duty 6.0L Diesel?
Asked on 5/28/2015 by New diesel owner

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Hi New diesel owner, glad to assist you! Most 2003 Ford-F350 Super Duty trucks did not come equipped with a cabin filter. The cabin filter was an optional feature installed by using Ford kit number F65Z-18D477AA. If this kit was installed on the F-350, it has a cabin air filter. To locate the cabin air filter access the passenger-side floorboard by entering the F-350 through the passenger side door. Look closely underneath the glove box. There is a black plastic cover mounted on the rear. Remove the five Phillips-head screws from the cover. Pull the cover down to remove it. Inspect the area behind the cover. If the F-350 has a cabin air filter, you'll see a rectangular filter-access door with tabs on the end. Squeeze these tabs to remove the cover. The cabin air filter is behind it.

With reference to your inquiry on the Driveworks Panel Type Cabin Air Filter -part# DW-45384, on the 1997-2004 Ford F150s, the cabin air filter was an aftermarket kit that could be installed by the dealership. If a filter is already installed, it would be located under the right side of the instrument panel in the HVAC housing. Trim panel may have to be removed to gain access to filter.
