When I remove the old filter the gasket did not came off, I was trying to take it off then i decided that probably the factory was better than the one comes in the box. Installed the new filter and fit well. Is wort it.
Before the day i change the transmission I ask at the chevy dealer how much they would charge me for transmission change and they said: $165.
It only took me 1 hour to 1h:30min.
For the safety I use the glue gasket lube it said did not required but for the safety and avoid leaks I added. I did this change on 60k and right now is on 70k is running well and no leaks at all.

Use the factory re-usable gasket. The cheap one that comes with the filter is not worth the chance of it leaking. Price is right for the filter, and it fits just fine. If you decide to use the new filter mount, tap it in with a socket and rubber mallet, don't use a hammer.

Comments about Driveworks Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:

Worked just like it was supposed to. I didn't expect anything less. Almost all replacement parts are made outside of the USA and just simply have different brand names. You get the same product you just pay more for the brand name.

Comments about Driveworks Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:

filter looks identical to the OEM filter. I had difficulty removing the grommet from the old filter, so I had to be careful to make sure that got removed. The gasket is OK - but the original was a re-usable gasket and is more robust, so I did not use the new one and instead re-used the original. No issues with installing the new filter or using it - I expect it will be as good as the original. The maintenance schedule is 50k miles, so I expect I will know the durability in 2 years - but expect it will be fine.

Comments about Driveworks Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:

The filter looked the same as the filter I removed. My car had the reusable gasket, so I did not use the rubber gasket in the kit. Real tight fit on the o-ring/seal, so I ended leaving the original one in as it was fine. The occasional shift issue seems to be gone.

                        A:

A clutch disengages the engine from the driven gears in the transmission for shifting. If the drive is not disengaged entirely, the gears will not properly mesh when attempting to shift. The result is a hard--or impossible--shift. Wrong, low or contaminated transmission fluid adversely affect the ability to shift gears. Gears must be turning at the same speed, in order for them to mesh together. The synchronizer mechanism prevents the transmission gears from engaging one another if speeds are mismatched. It is not uncommon for a driver to neglect fully engaging the clutch while shifting. While this may not pose a problem at first, over time the transmission and clutch will experience excessive wear. The result is a transmission that is hard to shift. However, we would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.

yes, this should fix your problem. You will need 7.5 quarts of fluid to change the transmission filter change.

pulled out the old filter, and in the process a flat metal band that was suspended on two pegs dropped off. does any one know which way this should face? it has a bend in it. a schematic would be helpful.
                      Thanks

With out the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis.
