When I remove the old filter the gasket did not came off, I was trying to take it off then i decided that probably the factory was better than the one comes in the box. Installed the new filter and fit well. Is wort it.
Before the day i change the transmission I ask at the chevy dealer how much they would charge me for transmission change and they said: $165.
It only took me 1 hour to 1h:30min.
For the safety I use the glue gasket lube it said did not required but for the safety and avoid leaks I added. I did this change on 60k and right now is on 70k is running well and no leaks at all.

Use the factory re-usable gasket. The cheap one that comes with the filter is not worth the chance of it leaking. Price is right for the filter, and it fits just fine. If you decide to use the new filter mount, tap it in with a socket and rubber mallet, don't use a hammer.

Comments about Driveworks Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:

Good product. Did what it was supposed to do. Quality is good and packaged nicely. Perfect fit and installed like the OEM. The only change I would make that would apply to all aftermarket brands of this type of product is to use a better quality Metal style gasket like the one that is installed from the manufacturer. The rubber one that is included is harder to align during installation and will not last as long as the metal style.

Comments about Driveworks Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:

I was needing to replace my transmission oil pan. I had order this kit to help with the correct installation. I had a great experience ordering online. Once I received the product, it was very simple to install although there were no instructions. I'm grateful that it was as an easy and simple thing to do. Since I have changed my oil, this process was very similar and easy to do with some common sense. Because of the age of my vehicle, I'm happy that I order the new filter and gasket. I'm glad that it came in a set.

Comments about Driveworks Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:

Good filter, flimsy gasket. After reading the reviews and seeing the amount of people who choose to reuse the factory, now 20 year old transmission pan gasket, I have no respect for this product. What's the point of manufacturing a gasket that most people aren't even going to use, because of it's horrible quality? They are forcing people to re-use a 20 year old gasket, in fear that the brand-new gasket they include will fail. In what world would you re-use a 20 year old pan gasket vs a new one? The manufacturer needs to rethink the quality of their product.

Although I feel the filter will be okay, I can only cross my fingers and hope they made it of a higher quality than the gasket, which makes their product bad. I will not buy this brand in the future due to their carelessness.

Why are people rating this product so high when something so vital is an absolute piece of unusable junk?

            A:

A clutch disengages the engine from the driven gears in the transmission for shifting. If the drive is not disengaged entirely, the gears will not properly mesh when attempting to shift. The result is a hard--or impossible--shift. Wrong, low or contaminated transmission fluid adversely affect the ability to shift gears. Gears must be turning at the same speed, in order for them to mesh together. The synchronizer mechanism prevents the transmission gears from engaging one another if speeds are mismatched. It is not uncommon for a driver to neglect fully engaging the clutch while shifting. While this may not pose a problem at first, over time the transmission and clutch will experience excessive wear. The result is a transmission that is hard to shift. However, we would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.
