Comments about Driveworks Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:

Does the job. Had some difficulty fitting the filter due to the O ring hardness, it took some wiggling and several attempts to get it to seat. Otherwise, it gets it done. Gave it 4 stars due to the hard O ring seating or it would have gotten 5 stars. It could be frustrating to use for a hobbyist mechanic.

Comments about Driveworks Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:

FILTER IS A GREAT PRODUCT. THE GASKET NOT SO GREAT SINCE RTV WAS RECOMMENDED TO HOLD GASKET IN PLACE. A BETTER DESIGNED GASKET DOES EXIST THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE RTV FOR ASSEMBLY. KIT SHOULD INCORPORATE THIS GASKET IN MY OPINION.

                  A:

With reference to your inquiry on Driveworks Automatic Transmission Filter Kit - Part No. DW-FK171, changing the transmission fluid would not hurt anything. If the vehicle has done a lot of towing then change of transmission fluid is highly recommended. Also it is recommended to check the color of the fluid before change. If the color of the fluid is brown and not red it is definitely time to change the fluid. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

You need to follow the service interval that your manufacturer has set for your vehicle. The average service interval is around 50,000 miles.
