I would buy this product again.

I should wait a year to rate this alternator since it only has a one year warranty. However, it was relatively easy to install and is working great.

Comments about Driveworks Alternator - Remanufactured - 95 Amps:

The item fit well and looked like a quality rebuilt part. After install it made no unusual noises and the charging rate was within the manufacturers specification with an output of 14.40 dc volts. I did not test to determine the maximum output amperage of the item as it appeared to maintain the listed output voltage with all lights and ac on therefore assumed to be of sufficient amperage but a specific number I can not provide. Item also comes 1 year free replacement warranty. More expensive items had a limited lifetime warranty, which is 90 days. I would have given 5 stars but but cant provide longevity due to only having item in service 1 week.

Bad almost burn truck to ground

      By

      from Brooksville/Homosassa FL

Comments about Driveworks Alternator - Remanufactured - 95 Amps:

Bought this alternator and had boyfriend change it out. Next morning drove 30 miles and had smoke coming from under hood and battery light came on. Got to work, the pigtail and connector on alternator had underwent melt down, had to put the flames out from the plastic catching on fire. Advance replaced the alternator, but I had to buy a new pigtail. Fast Forward from Oct 2015 to June 2016 Alternator is bad again. Battery Light coming on again. Heading to autoparts store if my truck will make it on battery power only. Disconnecting alternator.

Test the alternator before you leave the store!!!!

        buy a CARQUEST instead

Comments about Driveworks Alternator - Remanufactured - 95 Amps:

Voltage kept dropping low enough to dim my headlights anytime I let off the gas. Checked every single wire/ground and cleaned all connections but it still did the same. Took it back and bought a Carquest brand instead - so far so good (so what)

Comments about Driveworks Alternator - Remanufactured - 95 Amps:

Low power output. Runs the truck fine but on deceleration voltage drops. Overall it keeps me going and it was far cheaper than all others available. Can't judge dependability due to only having it in for a month. Easy to install. Much lighter than the oem or aftermarket standard voltage.

                  A:

Replacing alternators really is not a problem, accessing the alternator is usually the main problem. Sometimes alternators can be hard to access. I recommend looking at a local Advance Auto Parts store for a repair manual for your vehicle. It should be able to give you step by step instructions on how to replace the alternator.
