As others have commented, this filter is a bear to install. It WILL fit - but there's a trick to it.

Basically, you need to remove the filter housing from the vehicle to do it. Just pull the intake horn out of the inside of the fender and loosen the hose clamp at the engine side of the filter housing. This part is pretty easy to figure out.

I'm sure Ford thought they were doing us a favor by putting little prongs on the bottom of the housing to hold this clamp in place, but they really just get in the way. Just be aware that there are prongs on the bottom side of the filter housing and you've got to line up the correct holes in the retaining clamp with those prongs - which is MUCH easier to do with the filter housing OFF of the vehicle.

Next, you need to obviously open the housing by releasing the clamp around the housing. Take out the old filter and put the new one in. (Which is really all there should be to this process. . . )

Now, you've got to stand one half of the filter housing (the one with the filter in it) on end. Put the other half of the housing in place and line it up. Once it looks like both halves are lined up, put your knee on the top half of the housing and push down while securing the retaining clamp around the housing. Be sure to line up the holes in the clamp with the prongs on the housing!

Once you've got the clamp in place, put the whole air filter housing and all back in place on the truck. This is somewhat easier if you loosen the hose going to the throttle body and rotate it out of your way until the housing is back in place. Tighten all the hose clamps and you're done.

Shouldn't be this difficult to change an air filter, but I'm not sure if it's the filter or the housing that makes it so hard. For sure, as tight as this filter fits, there shouldn't be any air leaking past the filter! Which is a good thing.

I bought this brand because the did not have puraltors on the shelf. It don'd fit properly but I forced it in there. I will go back to the better fitting brands next time.

Can't really rate the product because I wasn't able to get it to fit. Ford F-150 air filters are sort of a pain, so maybe I just wasn't in the mood to mess with it but it just didn't seem like this filter wanted to fit. My suspicions were further increased by the fact that the cone on the end of the filter just doesn't "look" like the original.
