Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Water Separator Valve with Mounting Hardware:

Just like the original at 1/2 the cost. Would be nice if the defective part from the original was able to be serviced. The valve does not go bad, just the 2 O-rings where it mounts. Thank you low sulfur diesel......

Hi Chris, I'm glad to assist you! It has 2 O-Rings on the back side of it and no additional seals needed for this.

The O-rings are attached to the unit itself, they are not separate. You will NOT have to buy O-rings for it.

Well this all depends on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part. Some may have a harder time than others who have experience. For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific part.

The Inlet Diameter and Outlet Diameter are 0.25 inches and the length is 4 inches. It includes the Valve, Four screws, Two O-Rings and Handle. These Dorman water separator valves are designed to drain water from the fuel filter. They include new mounting hardware and install in the stock location with no modifications. The valves are built from quality materials to factory specifications to ensure a direct fit.

This part has the O-rings attached to it, you will not have to buy them separately. But to answer your question: The O-rings are 1/2"O.D. x 1/4"I.D and 1/8" thick for the drain hole and the air vent, I don't know the size of the O-ring on the valve stem itself.

With out the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer.

        • A:

Assuming its on a Powerstroke, Yes the fuel water seperator failing will cause it to leak out the drain line. If its not leaking on top of your engine make sure that the seperator valve is closed. The position is with the yellow handle turned towards the passenger side, open its pushed stright back.
