How does this compare to the Ford OEM part in terms of strenght? The price is about half that of OEM, and I don't want to be doing this replacement again anytime soon...

I purchased one of these for my F350 and the pin broke within 1 year. I don't think that it is near as strong as the Ford part.

  • Q:

is this the part that needs to be replaced when the shifter does not enguage the transmission all the way into park or is the shifter cable possibly the problem?

The mechanical failure in the transmission valve body, transmission pump failure or fluid leaks may also cause the transmission disengagement. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis.
