Q:How does this compare to the Ford OEM part in terms of strenght? The price is about half that of OEM, and I don't want to be doing this replacement again anytime soon...
A:Hi Joey-T, glad to help you! This part is designed to install in the factory location and help you get your vehicle's shifter moving through the gears correctly. The tube is manufactured from quality materials and install easily with no modifications necessary. The manufacturing materials include durable, corrosion-resistant cast aluminum.
A:I purchased one of these for my F350 and the pin broke within 1 year. I don't think that it is near as strong as the Ford part.
Q:Hello can you tell me where the Dormen #905-102 is made?
A:Advance Auto Parts does sell Made in the USA products as well as products manufactured from many other countries in order to keep our pricing competitive. Please also keep in mind that many suppliers have multiple manufacturing plants that could result in different countries of origin for the same part. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.
Q:is this the part that needs to be replaced when the shifter does not enguage the transmission all the way into park or is the shifter cable possibly the problem?
A:The mechanical failure in the transmission valve body, transmission pump failure or fluid leaks may also cause the transmission disengagement. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis.
