    I installed it but sometimes the ignition switch wont go to off position until i move the cable around and then it works fine ? maybe I didnt get the cable in the ignition switch right ? seems like it just snapped in ? Or did key need to be in certain position before I snap it in ?

      Sorry, I would not be able to tell you. You can take it to a repair shop and have them check it out if you are not able to figure it out. My guess with the information you provided is maybe the cable needs to be adjusted.

    I have a 96 chevy c1500 5.0 8cyl. When I try to shift out of park it sticks -- sometimes it will not move at all and I have to turn engine off and turn key to accessory and then I can shift out of park. Sometimes it shifts sometimes it don't... Will this part fix the problem?

      no all you got to do is remove the under cover of the dash and the steering bottem cover and then you'll see how to take appart the old to new just remember to block your back wheel place the parking break then procead in removal of these parts its a safety precaution.
