Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Radiator Fan Relay and Pigtail:

It's a pain to get to on a Grand Cherokee, but once you get to it (I cut out under the passenger headlight instead of taking the wheel front end off) it's an easy swap with dielectric grease included in the package with new bolts and rivets to use.

I didn't want to risk damaging so I went ahead and got it, It worked for maybe 1 day . then a was back to running hot again , no fan. went to the dealer got a OE relay . back in Biz.

Was eay to install, but failed within a year. Not sure why Chrysler uses solid state relay for this application in engine compartment. SSRs do not like heat. Factory relay lasted 10 years, Dorman 1.

With reference to your inquiry on the 902-303, on your Plymouth Grand Voyager if you pull the air cleaner assembly you can see the radiator fan relay . If you look down to the right of the radiator you will see the relay mounted to your right. For any further assistance, please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

              • Q:

I have a 1999 Ply Voyager with a 2.4 and I have already changed the fan assembly, coolant temp sensor, and radiator fan fuse. The fans still do not come on and the engine runs hot especially with the AC on. I'm hoping that changing this relay will finally fix the problem.
Where is the relay located on my van? Thanks.

The fan relay could possibly be the problem. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.

The cooling fan relay or module on my 2000 voyager 2.4L was located below the driver's side headlight assembly. Most are located under the vehicle on the subframe near the driver's side of the radiator.

The radiator fan relay may be the possible cause of the problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. A:

Not necessarily. A relay is like a switch. When a low voltage is sent to the relay, it make a connection for a higher voltage to make connection in the relay and then allow the higher voltage to travel through the relay to power the fans or any other device it is being used for.

I think he may have misunderstood your question. Yes this relay is for the radiator fans. Also, if yours is bad you will more than likely be getting a P1491 trouble code.
