Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions HVAC Air Door Actuator:

My dash vents on my trailblazer stopped working, these blend door actuators are known for failing to a poor GM design. These are something that a home mechanic can tackle on a trailblazer if it's for the dash vents or defrost vent blend door. This is the correct product however, the white external gear did not come aligned in the proper position and required the black case to be opened and a middle gear be removed for adjustments to be made. If you plan on doing this yourself, never change the relationship of the small blue gear with the gear it meshes with. You'll render the new actuator useless. Other than not coming pre aligned the part has been working perfect for months .

      Front AC vents not blowing?

      Cons

      • Difficult To Install
      • Req's Manual Adjustment

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions HVAC Air Door Actuator:

Buy this part is you're having the following issues:
AC vents will function in defog or floor (any combo of both) but not in front vents. 9 times out of 10 this will fix your problem. BEWARE, you have to take the housing off to manually adjust the gears (make sure they all maintain contact). Lift the generator out of the way, and adjust the white gears to match the position of the part you're replacing. this will ensure an easy installation. A:

Hi Wolf, glad to help you! The HVA/C Air Door Actuator is located behind the middle portion of the dash board. If you lay on the floor and look to the left you will be able to locate it. To get more specific information on the location of this part I would recommend purchasing a Chilton or Haynes Repair Manual for your vehicle, not only will it show the location and also explain how to install, but you'll find it handy for many more projects on your vehicle. The exact repair manual part number for your vehicle is 24072.
