This part is behind the glove box. There are two. I originally replaced the wrong one. There's one just behind the glove box to the left in front of the blower motor and a second one (wrong one for me) topside to the right of the blower motor. At least I think it's the blower motor. That wasn't so easy to remove and install 30 to 45 minutes. The one that's in front was easy no problems 5 to 10 minutes tops. The two parts are mounted with two screws each that are a 7/32 socket. The one that's on the right top I had to use a universal joint due to the lack of space. The screws are just over hand tight.

Since there are two motors I would recommend to turn on the A/C or heater and turn the selector switch when you start to hear the clicking/popping sound and feel which of the two motors are making the sound. Don't waste your time switching out the wrong part like I did.

I wouldn't have been able to find this motor or replace it if it weren't for the previous comments. I just added a little more info to help out the next guy.

Product is often not in stock and you have to wait till the next day. Next, after 2 hours of removing panels, installed the ADA and it worked great. Put all the panels back. Drove the car two days and the new ADA stopped working. Waited an extra day because Advance does not keep it stock. Installed the second one and it broke 3 days later. Now, I am on the third ADA it has been working and not giving any problems. So, I have 5 hours of labor behind all these[*] made pieces of junk. If anyone needs help installing one, I have the labor down to one hour from start to finish with all the practice I had. (It was going to cost around $300 labor to have installed at the dealership). If this one breaks, I am going to shop somewhere else. Dear Advance, Please start selling American made products or lose a 25 year loyal customer.

replaced original perfectly. hope it lasts much longer than OE - first one was 5 years, 2nd from GM lasted 1 year. Remove the glove box bucket and latch to provide some (not much) additional room to work in.

Looks like the original. Hopefully lasts longer than the original. Poor original GM design. A couple of the teeth on the one gear break-off and lead to the clicking noise from under the dash.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions HVAC Air Door Actuator:

My heater went out and I found out it was this actuator. The install is a little tricky. You really need small hands to reach the part and its screws. This makes it time consuming. It's behind the radio slot of the dash. After replacing it, I have had no other issues with climate control. It's been a year now.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions HVAC Air Door Actuator:

I agree with the post from "Price is cheap and Quality is cheaper" I have replaced two and one hasn't lasted 2 months... But looking at the OEM that I have replaced, it has made in China stamped on the side... Researching this it looks like it failes often and should be a recall issue... But you know how the auto industry is on recalls.

Hi Janet, I'm glad to assist you! The problem is a worn passenger's side temperature actuator. There is updated software available for the a/c control module that can fix this condition. You can have the dealer install this update for you.

Hi Nick, happy to help you! This part should be located under the passenger side dashboard. You will need a 5.5 mm socket, swivel, extension, ratchet and a good light. To get more specific information on the location of this part I would recommend purchasing a Chilton or Haynes Repair Manual for your vehicle, not only will it show the location and also explain how to install, but you'll find it handy for many more projects on your vehicle. The exact repair manual part number for your vehicle is 24048.
