I have a clicking noise under dash on my 1993 Chevy c1500 v6 and now my heat is not working at all.could this most likely be the problem?

Hi Dchristie, I'm glad to help you! This #604-102 is for the mode door. Without the presence of your vehicle I would not be able to properly diagnose it, nor provide you with a 100% answer. I would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis.

  • Q:

If this door is defective, would airflow not divert to the upper vents? I get no airflow to the defrost either. Where is it located on a 93 Chevrolet K20 pickup? Thanks!

I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

I have '93 C1500 Suburban. The mode actuator is located on the driver's side of the AC ductwork, directly below the radio and ashtray. I replaced mine, and the defroster control now works.

Bill, i have an 89 gmc with a/c and this part is placed on the heater box just inside the dash, if you take the plastic glovebox out you can see it if you look down and towards the center of the truck... you have to take out the center section of the dash (vent &/or radio) to remove and replace it. it is held to the heater box with two 7mm screws.. I am in the process of replacing mine now and just got on the site to see if it was in stock @ my local store. Its not hard at all to change.. (unless you have really big hands like mine!LOL)
