Removing the old one is a pain due to the location of the hose clamps. Install went fairly easy.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Heater Hose/Tube Assembly:

The entire assembly was in good shape, inlet hose was a little long but no major issue. Took a little bit of finesse to get the inlet and outlet hoses on the heater core nipples but that was the only irritating part. It's a good replacement and along with a new water pump on an 02 Taurus, the heat will roast you out of the cabin. Decent price and I would recommend this part as a suitable and cost effective replacement.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Heater Hose/Tube Assembly:

Used to replace a stopped-up tube assembly.

Patience is a virtue here. Overall, though, it was fairly easy to install...once I removed the "drain spout" (a 10-12" plastic piece that directs water from windshield toward the ground) next to the brake power booster. Prior to doing that I was trying to do all kinds of gyrations getting the metal tubing through a hole but the overall assembly was too big to let me do so.

It was a little snug getting the two retaining holes over the bolts used to secure the Assembly to the firewall.

Biggest item I had to work with: The OUTLET tube that goes into the left side of heater core as you're looking at it from the front was about 1" too long from the original tubing...and the INLET metal tubing where you first connect from the water pump side was about 1" too short! I was able to squish the OUTLET hose over and connect it, but I had to buy a new length of 3/4" hose to go from the water pump to the INLET metal tubing.

In a related item that some of you can laugh about, I replaced the thermostat too. And I use the term "replace" very loosely because when I removed the housing...there was no thermostat present! With those two fixes (and a new heater core that has its own story), my 2000 Ford Taurus finally has some blazing hot heat!

This was a replacement part and was perfect. It fit and had all the clamps on it. It was difficult to change out, but that was because of it's location. No complaints about the product.

Hard to replace but excellent fit. I would recommend cutting old hoses off of the heater core, then unclamping & removing what is left.
