Q:what is the real differences between the 3 Dorman harmonic balancers; direct replacement vs street vs racing. I am not going racing, but I do like my equipment to be very good.
A:Great question, Ed! If you are not using the vehicle for racing a racing damper may not be the best choice for your application. I spoke with Dorman about your question and found that the direct replacement harmonic balancer is the best part to use for everyday driving. The street balancer would be used for street/strip application with a modified engine and the racing balancer of course for racing use with a heavily modified engine. With the street and racing harmonic balancers you may experience more vibration from the engine.
