Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Evaporation Canister Vent Solenoid Valve:

Does not fit s-10 extended cab 2003. The tube that goes into the filter side is way to long and locking tabs dont even line up if the tube was the correct o.d. to fit into the housing.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Evaporation Canister Vent Solenoid Valve:

The replacement solenoid was exact in all the right areas( bracket mount, electrical connector and the canister connection on the o-ring side). The original part had a barbed fitting where the hose from the evap canister connected, the replacement solenoid has a smooth fitting so with a small stainless steel clamp the repair was straight forward. What is also good is that the smooth connector on the replacement solenoid is longer than the one on the original so that when you cut the hose at the start of the barbed fitting to remove it from the defective part,it does not affect how the assemble fits back on the vehicle when attached to the replacement part.

P0446 Code = Canister Valve Solenoid

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Evaporation Canister Vent Solenoid Valve:

Ordered the part via phone and they had it the next day. Looking on line for the P0446 code led to EVAP canister. It also led to hits mentioning placing power on the solenoid in order to hear if the valve worked. If it is not under power, you should be able to blow right through it. As long as power is applied the valve will be closed and you cannot blow through it. So just don't go listening for the click! If your vehicle had the Service Buliten done (you know if the filter has been routed forward and on top the transmission), this is an easy change. Two hose clamps, one electrical connector and the slide mounting bracket. Then lift the locking tab for the solenoid, rotate it 30-90 degrees and it pulls straight out. Reverse for install.

        A:

This Dorman - OE Solutions Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid - Part No. 911-021 located above the spare tire on your 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe. The error code P0449 may caused by the faulty vent valve, wire/circuit issue and PCM/EMC/ECM fault. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis. • Q:

I have a 2008 Yukon Denali AWD and I'm trying to find where the EVAP canister vent solenoid is located. I'm getting code p0449. I have fair mechanical and electrical aptitude, and from what I've read installation should be fairly straightforward, but I need to know the location. If there is something else I need to check please inform. Thanks

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

The EVAP canister vent solenoid on your 2008 GMC Yukon Denali should be located under the vehicle, driver's side near the fuel tank. The EVAP vent solenoid valve controls fresh airflow into the EVAP canister. The valve is normally open. The control module commands the valve ON, closing the valve during some EVAP tests, allowing the system to be tested for leaks. For any further assistance, please visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.

        A:

On your Saturn Vue Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid Valve is on top of the fuel tank and the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Vent Solenoid Valve is at the upper end of the fuel filler pipe. Replacing these depends on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part. Some may have a harder time than others who have experience. I would recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.
