Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Dorman DiRECT-FIT Tire Pressure Monitoring System Sensor:

two piece design allows the sensor to fit in several applications just make sure its not improperly positioned when you tighten the screw that attaches the stem to the sensor allowing the bead of the tire to pinch the sensor and breaking it. once I installed it a quick 5 min drive around town at the proper inflation pressure turned off the TPMS light

How do you tell which sensor is bad? I am guessing there is one in each wheel. The indicator light comes on flashes and goes out. per te manual this indicates a sensor is bad.

Hi Rick! It sounds like you have bad sensors. They only last about 5-7 years.

        A:

Hi Rick, glad to serve you! I would suggest you to buy a tool that will read the signals from the sensors to confirm the operation or take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem.

    • Q:

How do I get the tpms sensor to recognize my tire pressure once installed? I've driven over 100 miles and nothing. I also increased the tire pressure on the tire 10 psi above what it should be like a advanced auto parts sale associate told me to try and it did not work. It is a dorman tpms for a chrysler town and country 2008.

        A:

Hi Ron, great question! I am glad to help you with that. Dorman relearn procedure recommends to drive vehicle for at least 10 minutes while maintaining a continuous speed over 15mph and the TPM system will automatically learn new sensor IDs and will clear any DTCs during this time. They get relearned just the same as the original equipment ones do. There may be some installation error. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis.

    • Q:

I was told by the tire technician that if I put these on my new steel rims, they would need to be programmed? Is there some additional kit that I would need to get in order for these to "link-up" with my vehicle?
