Missing pass lock connector

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Door Lock Actuator, Front Right, Rear Right:

I got lucky and I was able to break the old connector off my old one and superglue to the new one. The GM part number on the old part matched the number the new one replaces but it is not complete. You need to buy the whole assembly to get it with all the parts needed to do the job. Dorman dropped the ball on this one.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Door Lock Actuator, Front Right, Rear Right:

Box was not sealed - Suspect Part..
However, once door panel was off of truck (Love YouTube), this part was easy enough for one of my children to replace. It was an exact fitment right down to the electrical connectors (many reviews quote that "radio turn off circuit" when door opens connector is missing). Turns out old one had signs of rust in it - possible water intrusion in door. Placed some Advance Auto Electrical Dielectric Grease in connector and everything worked like original. Thumbs Up Dorman on making a good, price conscious replacement.

Part #746-011 is NOT for LIFTGATE!

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Door Lock Actuator, Front Right, Rear Right:

I found this part application using a popular search page, but the listing is incorrect. This part does NOT fit the rear liftgate of GM SUV's, but seems to be intended for one of the SIDE doors. I have attached a photo of the Actual Actuator removed from my 2005 Chevy Tahoe for comparison.

I believe that Dorman products are very good quality, and the employees of Advance Auto Parts have been very knowledgeable and helpful, but THIS PART DOES BELONG IN THE REAR LIFTGATE of GM SUV's.

I purchased this part based on this application listing, however, it clearly does NOT match the actuator that I removed from the liftgate of my 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe, which is a completely different design. Fortunately, the team at my local Advance Auto Parts Store were very gracious, and refunded my money, followed by a thorough (but unsuccessful) search for a correct replacement part.

Bottom Line: This appears to be a high-quality part, but simply does NOT FIT this application (2000-2006 GMC/Chevrolet Full-Size SUV Rear LIFTGATE).

I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.
