My 1999 F350 uses two right hand plates!

By Jim in Pittsburgh

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Brake Dust Shield Pair:

My early 1999 F350 uses right hand side calipers and backing plates only. The left side is just a flipped right side setup. The box does come with some mounting hardware and rubber boots.

      A:

Hi Ron, with reference to your inquiry on the Dorman - OE Solutions Brake Dust Shield Pair - part# 924-212, remove the hub cap and loosen the lug nuts or studs on the wheel you are removing the brake dust shield from. Lift the vehicle using the floor jack near the quarter panel of the wheel you're removing the brake dust shield from. Secure the vehicle on a jack stand. Finish removing the lug nuts or studs, and then remove the wheel. Remove the brake dust shield from the inside of the wheel rim. Some shields may require pushing the shield out of the rim from the outside section of the rim, such as poking a finger or your hand through a space in the rim. Replace the wheel onto the knuckle of the vehicle and then thread on the lug nuts or lug studs. Tighten them snugly. Lift the vehicle high enough to remove the jack stand and then lower the vehicle to the ground. Tighten the lug nuts or lug studs securely using the torque wrench (preset with the correct wheel nut torque specifications for the vehicle) and a socket.
