The second to the smallest bushing is a perfect fit for 2004-2006 F-150 console shifter linkage at the transmission. May fit other years..
Make sure you clean any leftover pieces of the old bushing out of the linkage cup before trying to put new bushing in (it wont go in).
The pointed end of bushing goes into linkage cup and snaps in. May need to use channel locks to press it in. The other end snaps onto the trans lever.. Your Done!!!
No need to get the whole cable as the forums say... Enjoy your truck again!!!!!

Comments about Dorman - Help Pedal And Shift Linkage Bushing Assortment:

Ended up using a wire tie to hold the old retainer on the shift column of a 94 Ranger as this assortment of parts is not for the column shifter.

2004 ford FX4 pickup, console shift cable to transmission linkage. The second to smallest bushing was a perfect fit to replace the degraded missing bushing in the shift cable end. Saved the labor and expense of replacing the complete shift cable assembly.

Comments about Dorman - Help Pedal And Shift Linkage Bushing Assortment:

First make sure the old end to the cable doesn't have the plastic insert anymore (usually cracked and missing). I liked Rudy's write-up and also used the second to the smallest bushing in the kit. I could not find a stick to pry on the bushing so I found a pair of channel locks that once I taped the bushing to the lower jaw I was able to snap the bushing into place. Then I used the pliers to snap the cable end onto the bushing. Done in 5 min.

DORMAN KIT # 14041 Has the necessary piece I needed. I Used the 2nd to smallest size that comes in the 5 piece kit ( The Yellower looking one in the picture above ). It takes a lot of force to snap together. A Lot!!! I placed the piece from kit on the metal nipple on the shifter arm link and pushed really really hard with a wooden stick then placed shift cable linkage over piece from kit and again pushed with the stick super hard force. Works great now lol

Good to get the linkage back as one moveable piece but these are not exact replications of the factory parts. I had to shave one down with a razor blade to get it to pop into the throttle linkage on my Ford Tempo.
