      For Mounting this part Dorman - Help Dash Mount Lighter Receptacle Kit W/Socket, Cap, Bracket, Wiring, Mounting Hardware, Part No. 56482: The hole diameter would be closer to 1". The thickness would need to be much less than 1/4".
